What Happens When You Put Yourself Out There
Today was one of the most exhausting days of my life, in the best way possible.
It started out with a morning kayak through mangroves. Then, a quick lunch on campus and a pit stop at a coffee shop downtown in the hopes that some homework would be done before class the next day. It’s amazing how fast these days are going by.
I’ve always wanted to go sailing, so this was a big moment for me.
I felt so at peace and so at home out in the water. Life felt perfect. And not just perfect in that moment, but perfect for a long time. Perfect in the sense that I was filled with so much pure joy that I didn’t know what to do with myself. I couldn’t believe the moments I was lucky enough to experience.
But when you put yourself our there, truly out there, as your fully honest, completely real self, the good people will follow, and so will the adventures. You’ll find yourself in the middle of the sea in a sailboat, feet dangling off the side dipping in the water with the waves. Your skin will turn pruney with the amount of time you’ll spend in the ocean. You’ll walk around with a stupid smile on your face because you can’t believe this is your life now. And when you wait for it, you’ll find genuine human connection because of it.
